The Sans Souci Hotel stood on Front Street in Ballston Spa from 1803 until 1887 when it was torn down to make way for business blocks. This ledger spans the years 1823 to 1826 when Harvey Loomis owned thef hotel. A July 20, 1825, entry lists Joseph Bonaparte, showing a long list of rooms needed for himself and his party. This ledger was sent to the donor by an old friend, Thomas Hornsby Ferril of Denver, CO, a poet and editor of the Rocky Mountain Herald. It was given to Mr. Ferril by a woman who had found it in an attic in Denver.
